Jody Royer is an Amateur Canadian CrossFit Athlete and Trainer. The fitness regimen has become a part of his daily routine and a core part of his health and lifestyle discipline.

What is CrossFit?
CrossFit is more than just a fitness regimen. CrossFit is a lifestyle that challenges participants to the core. Focused on strengthening and conditioning the body, CrossFit combines varied functional movements performed and executed at high intensity. The program is not a short term practice, but rather an overall fitness program that requires long term commitment and dedication. CrossFit was started in 2000 by Greg Glassman and Lauren Jenai: two physical fitness trainers who envisioned a regimen that mimicked real-life activities. There are numerous routines that fall under the CrossFit umbrella. The routines largely consist of weightlifting and weight training, gymnastics and metabolic conditioning.
Amateur CrossFit Athlete
Jody Royer is an Amateur Canadian CrossFit Athlete. Royer chose CrossFit over other forms of physical fitness activity due to its varied approach and versatility. Although he primarily trains for himself and his own physical health and well-being, Royer also participates in CrossFit competitions throughout Canada. While he considers himself to be an amateur in the sport, Royer strives to match the level of commitment and dedication consistent with professional athletes in the CrossFit space. To Royer, CrossFit is all about pushing the limits and striving to achieve new heights at the personal level. The challenge lies in the commitment to the process.

Canadian CrossFit Trainer
After five years of CrossFit training, Jody Royer still considers himself to be a beginner and an amateur. But that’s the beauty of the fitness regimen’s challenging nature: there’s always something new to learn! Royer recently started connecting with fellow athletes in more of a Trainer position. He enjoys introducing completely green beginners to the fitness routine — and helping more experienced CrossFitters up their training game. Sometimes, working out alongside another person can do wonders for increasing commitment and confidence. His training programs largely focus on strength and speed: core components of any fitness routine.
